Website Accessibility
Accessibility
Nightowl Limited is committed to meeting current and future legislative and web accessibility guidelines.
As such, this website follows many of the recommendations of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 as a minimum.
Accesskeys and tab order
For visitors who have difficulty using a mouse, this site offers access keys and tabbing order as alternative keyboard shortcut to highlight main navigation options in supporting browsers. Home is [ALT+h], secure parking is [ALT+p] etc. Microsoft Internet Explorer will then require you to press the enter key to select that active link whilst Netscape Navigator 7 and Firefox will go straight to the relevant page without the need to use the enter key
Main Navigation also uses tab indexing so that you can also use the keyboard tab key to move though these menu options. A Skip navigation feature is incorporated for people using the Lynx or jaws aural and braille readers allowing you to skip the main navigation straight to the main content, thus avoiding these browsers reading out the descriptions of all the links each time on every page.
Font sizing
Font sizing on this website is relative. Therefore, if you require a larger font size for readability, choose the text-zoom option from your browser where supported. Please note: increasing font size may cause some text elements to wrap around any graphics forcing the graphics and images to be slightly out of alignment. This will not affect your ability to read the information on the site.
Older Browser support
By using web standards to provide a cross-browser and good accessibility experience for our visitors we are using technologies and standards (including Cascading Style Sheets CSS and XHTML) that have been approved and released after older versions of browsers were released.
Where possible, we would encourage visitors with old browsers (pre 2001) to upgrade to the latest versions available (usually free) from the relevant manufacturer as certain functions are not supported and this may affect the full presentation of this website.
